Founder & Clinical Director

Dallen Bell is the Founder and Clinical Director of Riverstone Counseling Group and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. He works with children, teens, adults, and families, providing counseling that is warm, practical, collaborative, and grounded in genuine human connection.

Dallen believes meaningful therapy starts with trust. His approach is down-to-earth and conversational, creating a space where clients can be themselves without feeling judged, analyzed, or talked down to. He combines a strong therapeutic relationship with practical strategies to help clients better understand themselves, navigate difficult emotions, strengthen relationships, and make meaningful changes in their lives.

Dallen especially enjoys working with children and adolescents and has a natural ability to connect with young people through authenticity, humor, and direct communication. Rather than approaching therapy as a lecture, he works alongside young people to understand what they are experiencing and help them develop skills that make sense in their actual lives.

He also works with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, relationship difficulties, parenting challenges, and major life transitions. His work is individualized to each client rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.

In addition to his clinical work, Dallen provides leadership and clinical direction for Riverstone Counseling Group. He founded Riverstone with the goal of creating a counseling practice where clients receive compassionate, individualized care and clinicians have the support they need to do meaningful work.

Outside of the office, Dallen enjoys golfing, spending time with his family, working in his yard, and listening to music.

Sonja Johnson, LPC

Licensed Professional Counselor

Sonja is a Licensed Professional Counselor with more than two years of experience providing counseling services to children, teens, and adults. She believes therapy is most effective when clients feel safe, understood, and respected as they navigate their unique experiences.

Sonja especially enjoys working with teens and young adults and takes a person-centered approach to counseling. She strives to create a welcoming, relaxed, and compassionate environment where clients can be themselves. Her style is conversational, compassionate, and humorous, while remaining attentive to each client’s individual needs and goals.

Sonja works with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, emotional regulation difficulties, relationship challenges, and life transitions. She also enjoys supporting clients around LGBTQ+ and women’s issues. She recognizes that reaching out for counseling can feel difficult and works to build genuine connections with clients at their own pace.

Sonja draws from several evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution-Focused Therapy. She incorporates these approaches flexibly based on what fits each client rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. When working with children and teens, Sonja may also incorporate games, art, and other creative activities to help make therapy engaging and comfortable.

Sonja hopes clients leave therapy with a greater sense of safety, self-understanding, and empowerment. She believes clients are the experts on their own lives and sees her role as helping them better understand themselves, develop useful tools, and move toward the life they want.

Outside of counseling, Sonja enjoys baking, painting, hiking with her rescue pup, and traveling.
